to think about for 2026
a businessman bought a massive diamond in south africa. rare, valuable, flawless… except for a tiny crack inside.
every jeweler he took it to said the same thing:
“i can split it into two perfect stones… but one wrong strike and it shatters into nothing. too risky.”
he spent months traveling the world hearing that exact line.
until he finds some old master in amsterdam. the guy studies it, nods, and calls over a young apprentice who’s been there like… three days.
the kid puts the diamond on his palm, taps it once, and it splits perfectly. two gems. zero hesitation.
the businessman asks, “how long has he been with you?”
the old jeweler says:
“third day. he doesn’t know what it’s worth. that’s why his hand didn’t shake.”
